A leading EV battery cell and module manufacturer needed to perform thermal shock tests on 15 battery modules within a tight time frame and strict specification.

Key challenges included:
  • No single laboratory had enough chambers to test all 15 modules simultaneously.

  • The test specification demanded rapid transfer time between zones: from +70°C to -40°C (and back) within 30minutes.
  • The core temperature of the modules—not just chamber temperature—was the decisive factor.

The Solution

  • Parallel testing: We secured 6chambers across 3 labs, enabling simultaneous testing of all 15 modules.
  • Precise monitoring: We implementedPT100 sensors to track module temperature during the test.
  • High-frequency data recording:Temperature data of both chambers and modules was logged every second, fully meeting customer requirements.
  • Synchronized execution: All laboratories were aligned to ensure identical start and end times.
